lol, tbh, it dosent matter what the crate has in it. you are going for a unusual! but yearh it would be better to get ones that have items that can get you at least SOME of your money back for new keys!

Yeah but most crate drops are worth less than a key. If you wanted to take an acceptable risk you'd have to get the crates with really good items, and those cost more than usual.

Thats your concern? say buying crates and you will get instant trades, everyone hates crates, and have lots of them!

Even if you buy with metal it's still a damn big investment.
Besides, not everyone even has 100 crates in their backpack.

I hadn't read this before I bought keys and unboxed 3 times and got 3 stranges. I have 13 stranges now. 2 Strange Rocket Launchers worth 1.33 each! aha I'm selling all of them!

The average price for a key is 2.44-2.66. The rule of thumb is buy it for less than 2.44, sell it for more than 2.55

if you have $10 invest it in keys, then try and sell them a little over priced(for metal ONLY) then buy them a little under priced with your metal, then repeat those 2 steps over and over! will take time but will make you money! if you are selling a key for 2.33 and it is worth 2, there will allways be people who trade you and try for 2 flat. DONT GIVE IN or you lose all your profits! Good Luck.

I'm adding ten dollars today and I am going to see what costs more and the prices of them in tf2 in metals. I'll get the best things I can see that are worth lots! xD

Oh I see. Well then just sell the keys, as I said, more price/metal ratio is always good.
A way to even improve on that, however, is buying black/white paint. They're like five dollars in the shop but they sell for 5-6 metal. Five dollars is 2 keys which will only get you about 5-5.33 metal. It's a pretty big investment, though.

Mmpphmm... You know, the real world money cost to ingame value ratio is better for keys. Why don't you buy and sell keys and then convert the metal into TOD tickets? Takes longer but I reckon that any metal coming from your hard earnt dollar should be treated with upmost respect.

Ye when I did that I made 10 Ref xD also I was selling Keys and TOD Tickets, but the "Scrapbanking" got me about 2 Ref

Yeah good point Millak! I didn't know that was Scrapbanking though. I thought scrap banking was selling the scrap for 2 clean weps. I guess I was wrong about that! xD

Thats what scrapbanking is, and it is a great money maker if you are persistent and dont give up on selling weapons after 10minutes when nobody wants them!

I just type in chat saying that I'm selling almost all of my weps for 1 scrap each. once I have tonnes of scrap I scrapbank and end up with double the weps! Try this. Sometimes it can be hard to sell weps though.

Yes, I was just explaining what scrapbanking is. "Also, if you have any unwanted weapons, you can sell them at 1 scrap each."

@Enoughmercy. Sure, this is what scrapbanking is SUPPOSED to be, but what you do to make profit is sell a scrap for 2 weapons and then sell those weapons at 1scrap each, making 1scrap every time. There's no point doing what Enoughmercy said if your looking to make a profit, as TheZone seems to be.

Welcome to the empty-clip forums! I would agree with Magnum, though try to get some friends in the community, they're bound to have a spare pair of gunboats or whatever you wish. Scrapbanking is also a great way, if you don't know already, Scrapbanking is making scrap (2 items of the same class) and selling 1 scrap for 2 weapons. People scrapbank because they have two unwanted weapons that are different classes. You are giving them the scrap so they don't have to get one of the same class, everyone is happy that way. Also if you have any unwanted weapons, they usually sell off at 1 scrap. Good luck!

Basically the only way to get items is to play and get drops, trade or beg. People don't really tend to like beggers, it's rare to get a good drop, so really you just want to trade.
Try scrapbanking. Buy 2weps for 1scrap and sell them 1scrap each, easy. Some people will pay over a scrap each if they really want the wep.
