I would have to STRONGLY recommend just using the built-in recorder!(that is if you are recording gameplay)
as i have said many times before, type "record "vidnamehere"" in console then "stop" to stop the recording.
to find the recording go into your tf2 folder and it should be there....somewhere. i tested and couldent find mine, but you could!

Use FRAPS. It's the best for recording, but it costs money. I got the Hacked Version off of a Torrent Site. It's obviously free and it works fine. So far I have about 30 vids with it and it's been great to use. All you have to do is adjust the FPS Video setting to make it perfect for you!
TF2 and CSS are very great games! xD

I use the "Kaiser Baas SERIES 8 GAME RECORDER" it records HD graphics on any game weather its on PC or the Consoles PS3, Xbox or Wii. it is pretty handy. very easy to upload to youtube aswell. If you live in Australia you can pick one up at an EB Games shop for about $50 to $80.
